The Los Angeles Public Library has introduced a comprehensive job hunting guide to help local residents in their search for gainful employment. The LAPL Job Hunting Guide, which provides users with links and information on local, statewide, and national sources of employment assistance, includes private, non-profit, and government initiatives designed to help people find work. The guide is divided into five parts: · Coping with Unemployment: Financial and Health Care Issues · Where to Look for Jobs · Exploring Career Opportunities: Education and Training · Researching Potential Employers · Interviewing, Writing Resumes & Cover Letters, Passing Exams, and Dressing for Success The guide, which contains over 200 employment related resources, offers referrals to assistance available in-person and by telephone, and highlights selected online and print resources available from the library. |
