Richard Benbow is the General Manager of the City of Los Angeles Community Development Department. Previously, he was COO of The Community Redevelopment Agency. He has been with the City of LA for 30 years. Mr. Benbow is also very involved in the Community. He is the co-founder and past President of the Advisory Board of the Minority Program in Real Estate Finance at USC, an executive level program that provides minority real estate professionals with the advanced tools necessary in today’s more challenging redevelopment environment. In the past he chaired the procurement committee of the Mayor’s Minority Business Opportunity Committee where he developed the guidelines for pledges made by private sector firms. He received his bachelor’s degree from Elmhurst College in Illinois and a master’s degree in Urban Affairs from St. Louis University in Missouri. |
