In mid-June, the California Employment Development Department awarded $888,000 to local WorkSource Centers/America's Job Center of California (AJCC) to assist veterans through Veterans Employment-Related Assistance Program (VEAP) grants.
The LAEDC’s Institute for Applied Economics has published a new study on LA County’s workforce needs, occupational forecasts, and skills required by occupations.
The study provides workforce development intelligence as part of an ongoing partnership with regional Workforce Investment Boards and other education and workforce development partners.

Leveraging good ideas and past success - matched with calculated risk, experimentation and hard work - several partners of the City of Los Angeles Economic and Workforce Development Department and the Workforce Investment Board have successfully secured Workforce Accelerator Fund (WAF) grants from the California Workforce Investment Board.
