
Rodney Hanners
Rodney B. Hanners is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Keck Medicine of USC and the President and CEO of the USC Health System. Hanners is responsible for oversight of the university’s clinical activities, including USC Care Medical Group and Keck Medical Center of USC.
Hanners has a proven track record of driving clinical efficiencies and fostering a culture of trust and teamwork as a seasoned healthcare executive. In his roles as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and CEO for Keck Medical Center of USC, Hanners was responsible for the health system’s acute and ambulatory performance, working with his executive team to advance quality, service, access, growth, and financial performance.
Prior to joining Keck Medicine, Hanners served as Senior Vice President and COO for Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Before that, Hanners held various positions within the Kaiser Permanente system, including COO for Kaiser Permanente’s Los Angeles Medical Center.
Preceding his career in healthcare, Hanners served as a naval officer in the United States Submarine Force, where he was selected as the Submarine Group 5 junior officer of the year. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from California State University, Long Beach, and a master’s equivalent degree in nuclear engineering from the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Power School in Orlando, Florida.
A resident of Torrance, California, Hanners is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys beach activities, sports, and spending time with his wife, Eileen, and their two daughters, Rachel and Brooke.
